Hello! I’m Mayanthi Bhagya Basnayake, an educator with a background in English and French teaching. As a Sri Lankan, I have always been passionate about languages and literature, which led me to a Bachelor’s degree in English, French, and Sociology and to my current pursuit of a Master of Education at Thompson Rivers University. My journey so far has been rich with diverse teaching experiences, from tutoring in GCE Advanced Level Pearson EDEXCEL (English) and teaching in the K-12 sector to lecturing in English. But now, I’m stepping into a new realm: inclusive education. It’s vital for me to understand the nuances of inclusive education, its policies, and practices. This is especially important considering my Sri Lankan background, as it provides a unique perspective in understanding how education can be accessible and engaging for all. I’m excited to embark on this learning journey and share my insights and experiences along the way.
